What Existed

Similar to International Association for the Study of German Politics website, ASMCF had a small website which was designed with web 1.0 standards in mind.

The website displayed a lot of large, text-heavy paragraphs which lacked imagery.

Also, a complicated menu and no search feature made it challenging to navigate the website.

The original ASMCF logo depicted an illustration of Joan of Arc which was hard to identify.

New Objectives

  • Provide a networking platform for academics
  • Promote video and audio content from events to increase attendance
  • Provide sign-up for regular content to visitors
  • Incorporate the separate blog site into the new website
  • Re-design the logo with modern design in mind
  • Promote the advantages of becoming a member of the society

Our Solutions

We provided personalised user journeys on the website for teachers, researchers and postgraduates.

We added an effective search function and simplified the website navigation.

We implemented web forms so that users could easily register for events, memberships and funding.

We created areas to add recordings and photos from events.

We re-designed the website and brand to be inspired from a minimalist design approach.

We migrated the blog into its own area whilst making easier to access and digest.

Results

In January 2019 the ASMCF website went live.

Here are some quotes from the stakeholders…

The team at T&F were great at guiding us through the process and clearly demonstrated their skills in designing the website as well as responding to our questions and providing solutions which exceeded our expectations.
